HELP WANTED – General Laborer

The Cass County Road Commission is currently accepting applications for full-time Laborer positions. Applicants must be 18 years of age, have a valid CDL License, and successfully pass a pre-employment drug and alcohol test.

Applicants should have a general familiarity with roadway safety. The successful candidate will be trained and required to operate a dump truck, blade gravel roads, patch potholes, haul materials to construction projects, perform snow removal and trim/remove trees. Asphalt paving and/or tree work experience are preferred. In addition, the successful candidate must conduct minor maintenance on their truck including changing blades on the underbody scraper and on occasion general building and yard clean-up or other duties as assigned could be required.

Candidates must be able to sit for extended periods of time in a truck, lift up to 100 lbs., and be able to operate a chain saw.  This position is considered 95% outside work and therefore you must be able to work in all types of weather and withstand both extreme heat and cold.  Overtime may be required, depending on the weather and workload demands.
